Natural language programming techniques allow the software agent sysbrains to ‘read’ and understand English language documents written in ‘system English’, or ‘sEnglish’. These documents ‘teach’ the vehicles advanced control methods, giving them sophisticated navigation and feedback capabilities. This allows them to independently adapt during missions, carry out repairs and judge for themselves how best to carry out various tasks.

The ability of sysbrains to understand sEnglish opens a wealth of new possibilities for autonomous vehicles in general. Engineers can write and publish technical papers in sEnglish directly for sysbrains, with new control instructions to enhance their physical and problem-solving skills. This has wide application not only in spacecraft and satellites, but also for autonomous underwater, ground, and aerial vehicles.
