A number of Cambridge museums and galleries have put on a number of special exhibits and workshops.Exhibits span an extensive range, from gargantuan Totem poles at the museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, to the first pocket calculators at the Whipple Museum of the History of Science.
Art lovers are also well catered for, by special displays at Kettle’s Yard, the Fitzwilliam Museum and the Museum of Classical Archaeology. These include a collection of classic Roman and Greek casts, sculptures by Alexander Stoddart and paintings by Paul Janssens. This is also a rare opportunity to hear artists speak about their work, and to attend creative workshops.
There are also a number of other activities for the whole family ranging from 'make your own polar bear' at the Scott Polar Research Institute, to caption competitions at the Fitzwilliam Museum. In addition, the Fitzwilliam is also putting on a number of promenade concerts and plays throughout the month. Admission is free for all and exhibits are open on all weekdays and Saturdays.
